Today, we are actively supporting more than 200 000 people annually through medical care, counselling and social services, training and development, education and empowerment in various township clinics in the Western Cape, at Container Village Blikkiesdorp and at HOPE Cape Town’s headquarters at The Nex-Indawo Yethu Campus in Delft.
At our “Container Village” we offer a range of services including on-site educational and therapeutic activities for children, adolescents, and unregistered school children.
Our Community Outreach Centre has become a safe space for the community, especially for the children. The HOPE Cape Town staff and volunteers are seen as role models as they enable people to develop their skills and knowledge. For most of the children who attend the different programmes at the centre it is often the only time that they receive a nutritious meal and supervised but carefree play, hence the centre is a beacon of hope as well as a “home from home” since many of them identify their own families with words such as neglect, violence and abuse.
The HOPE Cape Town container village at Blikkiesdorp is identified by the local community as a place that supports residents when they desperately need assistance.
