“Engagement knows no age. Impact knows no distance.”
Thanks so much. Dear Amaya & dear Sophie!

Flea Market for a Good Cause

This summer, the two young girls from Hard, Amaya Howard and Sophie Schlor, organised a flea market for a good cause for the third time.

In the Seepark, Amaya and Sophie set up a stand to sell second-hand books, toys and other useful items. The selection also included bracelets, earrings and other creative products that the two girls had made themselves. In the end, the flea market for a good cause raised net proceeds of over €400!

Support for children in need in South Africa

While the young girls from Hard had supported the children’s home in Dornbirn with their flea market over the past two years, this year the proceeds were donated to the organisation “HOPE Cape Town” in South Africa, the country where Amaya was born.

Founded more than 25 years ago, the organisation supports around 80 children aged 8 to 18 on weekdays, helping them with learning and homework. Thanks to the donated money from Hard, the children can be provided for three months with sandwiches, fruit, juice and more. For many of the children, the meal at “HOPE” is often the only meal they receive during the day.

For their commitment, the girls from Hard have already received a thank-you email from HOPE in South Africa. Amaya and Sophie would also like to thank all visitors to their flea market who supported the cause through their purchases. The two girls are already looking forward to repeating the initiative again next year.
