Our founder of the HOPE Cape Town Trust, Rev. Fr. Stefan Hippler received the Bavarian Order of the Constitution 2025 from Ilse Aigner, MdL, President of the Bavarian State Parliament, in the Senate Hall of the Maximilianeum in Munich.
This distinction recognises nearly three decades of determined, hands-on commitment.
For almost 30 years, he has advocated for people affected by HIV/Aids, especially children and youth in South Africa, ensuring they can shape their lives with dignity and autonomy. Under his leadership, medical and social facilities with exemplary impact were established, as well as the Bavarian House, an education centre where young adults complete qualification programmes that strengthen local development.
His work builds durable bridges between Bavaria and South Africa and advances regional and international development cooperation.
The award honours not only his exceptional humanitarian dedication but also his role as a connector across continents.
