Jahreshauptversammlung HOPE Cape Town Trust
Am 7. Mai 2016, 10:00 Uhr, fand die Jahreshauptversammlung des HOPE Cape Town Trust im WESTIN statt. Rev. Fr. Stefan Hippler berichtete über die Arbeit des HOPE Cape Town Trust in den vergangenen 10 Jahren. Trustees aus der ganzen Welt bestätigten ihr Engagement für den HOPE Cape Town Trust, und stellten damit sicher, dass HOPE Cape Town mit seinen Projekten und erforderlichen Dienstleistungen hier in Südafrika fortfahren kann. Wir freuen uns auf die Arbeit, die in diesem Geschäftsjahr vor uns liegt.
Britt Hultgren studiert an der Universität von Missouri in den USA und verbrachte sein einmonatiges „Elective Student“-Praktikum im Februar 2019 bei HOPE Cape Town. Vor Beginn seines Medizinstudiums, lebte und arbeitete er bereits im Ausland, um andere Kulturen kennenzulernen. Sein Interesse an kulturübergreifenden Gesellschaftsdynamiken und deren Auswirkungen auf das Gesundheitssystem sowie die individuelle Behandlung war während seines Praktikums deutlich erkennbar. Seine Abschlusspräsentation behandelte das Thema „Privileg und Entwicklung – Die Rolle von Privilegierten im Gesundheitsrechtssystem: eine kulturübergreifende Diskussion“.
2017 Ball of HOPE
The Ball of HOPE, a HOPE Cape Town and Southern African - German Chamber of Commerce and Industry collaboration took place in Cape Town on Saturday, 13th May 2017. The Team at the Westin Hotel created an atmosphere and experience that Benefactors and Friends of HOPE Cape Town will never forget. HOPE Cape Town has enjoyed increasing support both locally and internationally and has seen substantial growth since the first Ball of HOPE held in 2002.
Happy Children’s Day in Manenberg
Dank der großartigen Unterstützung von Kamghe Gaba konnten wir am 23. April 2014 in Manenberg einen Happy Children‘s Day ausrichten. Für 200 Kinder gab es Hüpfburgen, Kinderschminken, Zuckerwatte, eine Power-Oase mit frischem Obst und Säften. Außerdem wurde der neue Abenteuerspielplatz eingeweiht. Kamghe besuchte HOPE Cape Town im Jahr 2010 und seitdem hat er mit seinem Projekt „My Chain For Happiness“ (http://www.mychainforhappiness.com/) und einem Fotografie-Workshop Spenden für HOPE Cape Town gesammelt.

Unsere jährliche Jahreshauptversammlung fand am 23. August 2013, 14 Uhr in der Mediterranean Villa in Tamboerskloof statt.
HOPE Cape Town & Hochschule Neu-Ulm
During a project week in Cape Town the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and Neu‐Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) successfully developed an eLearning environment for Community Health Workers (CHW) of the HOPE Cape Town Association.
Senior academicians from both Universities guided students during the week in a process culminating in an “eLearning Framework for HOPE”. From 21‐25 May, a delegation from HNU comprising 14 students and 4 professors, as well as 6 students and 2 professors from UWC Economic and Information Management Sciences Faculty, formed joint project groups to research prerequisites and design a mobile course framework for Community Health Workers. As a scientific basis, they created a six layered model of learning integrating the learning styles and conditions of the target group, as well as the technical and organisational circumstances. In interviews and usability tests the user’s needs, learning circumstances, previous knowledge, as well as ICT skills and interaction with the content and design of the courses, were analysed. The outcome was benchmarked with existing initiatives of other South African and international organizations for similar target groups.
